A Wee Rose Red

Ysolda’s Rose Red beret (rav link) must be one of those wonderful little patterns that fulfil every possible knitting craving. An absolute pleasure to knit with some interesting lace and simple cables. Being a small accessory it was a fairly quick knit and the leaves of the flower grew at a rapid speed. Not to mention the destash of that odd skein of yarn that had been sitting in my stash far too long – such satisfaction! And best of all – she wears it!

I knit the smallest size of the pattern using a light DK/fingering weight yarn on 3.75 mm needles to get a size to fit a 3-year-old.

Pattern: Rose Red by Ysolda Teague

Yarn: Colourmart 100% Supersoft Merino DK for Yarn Forward

  1. I’ve just finished my first Rose Red (blog post to follow), and absolutely love it. As does my 3 yr old, so thanks so much for the advice on how to size down.
